PES University Hospital has officially commissioned a next-generation High-Definition Biplane Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, establishing a major super-specialty hub for round-the-clock coronary interventions, acute stroke thrombectomy, and complex structural heart therapies.
The biplane imaging system utilizes two simultaneous rotational X-ray gantries, allowing interventional cardiologists to visualize coronary arteries, bifurcations, and chamber dynamics in dual orthogonal planes in real time with minimal contrast dye volume.
Golden Hour Response in Acute Myocardial Infarction
In acute heart attacks, every passing minute determines myocardial salvage. The new lab operates on a zero-delay triage protocol, achieving door-to-balloon times well within the global gold standard of 60 minutes.
The cath lab is backed by an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR), and rotational atherectomy (Rotablator) systems for heavily calcified coronary lesions.
Dual-plane imaging allows us to treat complex structural heart defects and acute coronary occlusions with unprecedented safety and speed.
